Who we are
Harry Owen started the Road Haulage business in 1972. Situated in Bethel, just a few miles from the A5/A55 Expressway and only 30 miles from the port of Holyhead.
Where it all began
The company started with one second hand ERF heavy goods vehicle and one trailer carrying cattle for local agricultural merchants. At the time we had a milk processing and retail business, in the early days we had to deliver milk door to door in the mornings and then take the HGV to Spillers in Birkenhead in the afternoon and load cattle feed - this was all loaded by hand on and off the truck.

1970 ERF A Series
We then started carrying the world famous Penrhyn Quarry Welsh Roofing Slates from Bethesda to destinations all over the UK. This was good work at the time and well paid, we would source return loads from clearing houses in London.
In 1974 we purchased our first new truck, an ERF A series with a 180 Gardener David Brown Box Kirkstall Axle Trailer.
Today H.F.Owen services Holyhead Port, Mostyn Docks, Liverpool Docks, Peel ports and all the major freight entry or exit routes across the UK. From Collection to Destination, we supply dedicated transportation services to suit our client’s needs.
